Linked Duplicates of Meta Strips in the Video Sequencer
Here's a useful feature searched by a User on Blender Stack Exchange :
When I select an image strip along with its sound and press
Ctrl+G
to group them into a
Meta Strip
, I can duplicate the meta strip using
Shift+D.
However, if I later make changes to the group — like adjusting the image position or changing the audio volume — those changes aren’t reflected in the duplicated group. I tried duplicating with
Alt+D
, but that doesn't work like when making linked copies of objects. Same problem with duplicated Adjustment Layer strips.
Is there a way to create linked duplicates of a strip group — something like
Alt+D
for objects in the 3D Viewport — so that changes made to one group are reflected in the others?
This feature of instantiated meta strips would be extremely useful for easy reusing of meta strips, just one central place to edit and reuse them.

There is no operator to instance a strip either:
I imagine being able to have multiple strips that share basically every setting except channel and start/end frames would be useful too?
Would love to see this implemented. Seems like a natural use case for the meta strip, similar to precomps in After Effects.
Idiomas ?
