Cursor to Object Origin snap menu option

A new option to the Snap menu (Shift+S) to snap Cursor to Object origin

Before you say anything. I know this can be done with Cursor to Selected, however it has the following limitations:

Object mode: it snaps to the center of all selected objects. The new option would only snap to the active object's origin, regardless of selection.

Edit mode: Impossible to snap to the object's origin from edit mode with the Cursor to Selected option, forces you to do repeated trips from edit to object mode and back just to snap. 9401296d928fe647467386569c177f7ca1c17146.jpeg

In object mode, what you described is the "Snap Cursor to Active"

In edit mode, yes it would be nice to have a way to snap the cursor to the object. I'd even go further:

  • Have this in both edit and pose modes, since we can have a selection of elements that isn't the same as the selected object.
  • Just like we have the choice between snapping to the selected or active elements, let us have the choice between snapping to the selected or active objects, since we can edit/pose multiple objects.
