This proposal is interesting. Although I agree that you should make an individual post of the specific elements of this proposal, this is also good and helpful to see the perspective of the Blender UI you are invisioning.
Aside from this the UI design and presentation is definitely impressive. If I am right you are a UI or web designer.
* @johnpdelacruz26 * Hi, ty. Yep i work as a ui designer in last 2 years and yes, before that i working as a web designer :)
* @johnpdelacruz26 * exactly what I wanted to express. he is showing a perspective which is very different from showing individual elements in this precise situation
This is multiple ideas bundled into a single post. Please separate them into individual proposals so they can be discussed and voted upon independently.
As " New sidebar location " you propose to move N panel out from 3d view? So what you propose to do those who work in full screen ? Please, don't "fix" what work exactly how it have to.
Ty for the comments. I will try to do individual posts for all my ideas. GL
* @Krzysztof Kolatorski * your design sensibilities might be better suited for devtalk.blender.org/
on any given week there are numerous discussions happening about UI/UX design, you may want to hop over there and join in on some of those conversations. RCS is a bit of an echo chamber most of the time, and as mentioned- usually you want to have your ideas broken into individual posts which doesn't make sense for something like this. how do you split a cohesive 'vision' up into multiple posts and spread them out without any context? that's like making a cake and then serving the icing separately :)
* @testure * in conferences they presented the new UI of 2.80 piece by piece but never as a whole. joking...
about the way to design windows this is interesting. about the content you present not really in my own opinion. because seeing shapes always like this is not a such priority. could be a tool. or could be in a menu list developing as you show when choosing the item add object. I think you have indeed a good potential about design indeed but this is not maybe what is the most needed for users. but some very good ideas
* @zgorg2004 * but, if you think about fast "user toolbars" when you can put most used tools / shortcuts / object group (like in 3dsmax, cinema, maya) or whatever you want its rly intuitive and user friendly. Or possibility to make own toolbar with big render button without buying any addons its 100% win to win. Not all my ideas are good for everybody but i put in this designs best solutions i think from other software. And not everybody is a "shortcuts" beast :) some of us like to click a buttons :) I think some of the hidden options can be visible in this way.
* @Krzysztof Kolatorski * I agree to some of you points. Not all shortcuts are supposedly faster than a single click of a button that is just located under the cursor of your mouse. Having hotkeys is essential but being dependent on it at all times can make your workflow slower. Industry standard companies Know what they are doing and their experience to this business has a lot to do with how their softwares look right now. They learned how to compromise which I believe all their user understands the reason behind these decisions.
For a very aesthetic and comfortable viewport, there is always a place for it but at the end of the day we know how to prioritize in this field of work. I hope blender will just create a patch/addon for things that fall onto this matter. Lessens the bloating to some users who might not be using it.
I think you're too late, buddy, those UI proposals were actual when 2.80 were in Alpha, now blender looks just fine, everything else could be implemented as addons but I don't feel such necessity in that. Switching object property tabs from left to right already possible with right click-nav.bar-switch to right. Bringing asset manager in future plans already so your idea on how it should look might be helpful.
perfecto ideas sir
i love your work and your idea !
You could use transparency in Header background color since release of 2.80. As for "Reorganized Gizmos and Controls" - Alpha 2.81.8 has it already vertically oriented. As for "Asset Manager" - it's a dream of many blender users i'm sure, but only add-ons could offer something like this for now.
