Create Static Mesh tool

An addon that enables you to make static meshes from animated or simulated ones, cloth or rigid body. Select objects at a frame in the simulation and hit 'Static Mesh' and you get a copy of the objects frozen in place with all keyframes and rigid bodies removed. In 3DS Max this tool is called 'Snapshot', which works on everything- rigged meshes, particles, simulated cloth or rigid bodies. There is already a 'Mesh Snapshot' tool for Blender which does something else, so I called this Static Mesh, but I don't really care what it's called as long as it does the job... If there is already an addon which does this, please let me know, but I haven't found one yet.

I also miss the snapshot tool.. and last week I really needed it (to bake animations).. so I wrote one:

**You'll have to re-indent the code - markdown does not allow it..**

import bpy

startFrame = 0
endFrame = 100
stepSize = 5

scene = bpy.context.scene
objs = bpy.context.selected_objects

for n in range(startFrame, endFrame, stepSize):
    scene.frame_set(n)
    for i in objs:
        print(i.matrix_world)
        theObj = bpy.data.objects.new(i.name, i.data)
        theObj.matrix_world = i.matrix_world
        bpy.context.collection.objects.link(theObj)

ps: it makes linked (instanced) copies, so the mesh is shared among the result

Thanks Atair I will try that! However, I am not much of a python coder so please explain what 're-indent the code' means...?
