The middle button could change to pan when in orthographic view
The middle button function could change depending on your view. In an orthographic mode, at least in main views, and at least in 2D animation and drawing mode, the middle button could be the pan instead of the rotation.

In fact the MMB works perfectly in the 3D area. But let's face it, it does not make any sense to turn the camera in Blender 2D mode. Changing this in the settings is not a solution since I am talking about a standard, not a personal, functionality. But if the users do not agree, I imagine this is just me.
That's how you create inconsistent and frustrating and painfull UX.
I guess all the other software have to reinvent the wheel also...
Okay, I'm using the 2D drawing and animation mode with Grease Pencil in Blender and I have to say: Well, yes, I'm loving it! But, it really is very annoying to have to click on Shift every time I want to make a Pan! Rotating the camera could be with this shortcut Shift. Or at least have a way to lock the camera's rotation in this drawing mode, and it's turned on by default. And I'd better make it clear. I'm not asking how I can solve my problem. I'm giving user experience feedback. As someone who also uses 2D software.
Thank you all for your attention.
If u want to Pan with MMB so just change it in settings and just do it. I use MMB for Pan from my first day I opened Blender. I dont use lot of Blender default keys and don't see any problems.
