Add dopesheet, timeline and graph editor buttons in the header of those editors.

timeline_buttons.jpg I think it would make much sense to have those three very heavily similar editors be bundled together with these links. (you should still be able to open them separately.)

I know there is a shortcut to change the editor from timeline to graph editor and back, but I use multiple different 3d-softwares and all the shortcuts are kind of getting the workflow be messy. That's why I like to do my stuff more with the UI.

For anyone interested, please check out this free add-on: blastframe.com/product/switch/

It gives you the option for not just the Dopesheet, Timeline, and Graph Editor but other animation editors like Grease Pencil as well.

pie menu editor addon can add all the buttons and dials you want everywhere in blender .. its one of the most important addons i have.

and its also a great idea to have this as buttons , ill check it out now if it works

Really? I need to check it out too then :o Tho my problem is that I sometimes do videos online and that's why I cannot use the nicest tools out there sadly, but only vanilla. That also is the biggest reason I hope Blender devs would fix this kind of quite obvious problems in blender that we otherwise have to "fix" with all kind of addons.

i checked it and it works really nice! good idea ! .. i dont understand your reasoning though, but you can just diable the addon and everything is back to normal in a second.

heres my pimped up dopesheet header : cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/476728053201108992/903070194757423104/unknown.png

i added the play controls , then 4 little scripts of my own , the preview range controls and then your idea , now its easier to switch between dopesheet and grease pencil sheet and threw in the curve editor for good measure

Thanks for testing. My reasoning was that if I do a tutorial, it's very confusing if I have and use buttons that no one else is having.

A fork of Blender that is distributed (Bforartists) has this already. Give it a whirl. Opensource is good for that. There also is an addon that can add things like this, from what i know of.

Unfortunately I can't recall the addon name.
