Alt MMB bug?

Alt middle mouse button causes timeline slider to move, even when mouse pointer is not hovering over the timeline. To keep things consistent, the timeline slider should not move when using Alt MMB in the main viewport.

For example, Ctrl MMB doesn't have this problem.

Bonus item: At least with Blender Windows v 2.92, Save As doesn't save the file when pressing Enter after typing in a file name (despite "Save As" being highlighted). Question: Is there a reason why the file name field lights up red?

This isn't the place for bug reports. In Blender go to the menu Help › report a bug.

Right. I'll do that.

Having said that, the second part (concerning the Save dialog) is not a bug. Instead it's a characteristic of the interface design. Whichever button the mouse pointer is hovering over is what will be activated when the user presses Enter. Hence if someone goes to save their project, sees that [Save As] button is highlighted, happens to have the pointer floating over the [Cancel] icon, and presses Enter.... They'll be in for a big surprise when they find that their file never actually saved to the drive.
