[ Edit Box ] - for Text objects!
A perfect project for a Junior - Mid Coder.
Simple idea, but very useful.
You can easily label assets over time.
(Great for game animation).
Perfect for motion graphics.

definitely
how about add option to custom the size of every text box independently also rotation
@hamzaelbarmaki1 - I hear what you're saying.
You're saying, "I like your idea! Now let's push the concept further, and make it even more useful".
I like your gusto, your verve, your enthusiasm! :D
Right now we need to get something working at a basic level first. If someone in the Blender community or dev team can accomplish that, so there's at least something to work with, it would be a huge win.
After that we can see where more advanced ideas like yours fit in. Does that make sense?
I'm glad you like the idea in its simplest form right now though.
That is much appreciated. <3
Thank you.
That is conceptually similar to something the sculpt dev and the greasepencil dev had started working on. A single object contained multiple meshes and the mesh displayed changed on each frame. It was thought to be super useful for clay-mation style animation.
@thinsoldier - This is very true.
The problem:
Setting even a single keyframe on the content of an Edit Box essentially creates multiple meshes within a single object, therefore it's no longer classed as a "Text Object", but instead something more along the lines of a Collection with Text Objects in it.
A possible solution:
Text Objects aren't like normal meshes. The shapes of the meshes are determined by data elsewhere: Font info, size info, paragraph alignment info, etc, and the shape of the mesh is created from that predetermined data. There might be a much simpler, more elegant solution to be had because of this distinction.
The only difficulty comes from converting a Text Object (with multiple keyed words within it) to a single Mesh.
The result might be something like this: Convert to Mesh creates multiple meshes, all with the same origin point and with no key data.
I.e. All the different words that were once keyed within the Text Object are now made into separate meshes and present in the same location, all being visible (all at once) stacked on top of each other, which would look like a bit like this:
Perhaps, when converted to Mesh, the individual words might have keyframes on their visibility as part of the conversion process.
@thinsoldier - This is a fun idea to explore. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. To whomever the coder is who will be taking up this Edit Box challenge, I hope this helps. :)
+1 for text animation
yes!
