Menu Switch | Polish UI noodles connection indication
Right now when using a menu switch output (and I believe in other situations too I can not recall), it can create confusing situation.
In the example shown, I have two options. One of them is used when the Input A is selected. When this happen the other node seems not to be connected to anything.
This can lead to assuming that "This node is not connected to anything, I can delete it" kind of disaster thing.
It would be better to have a visual indicator (like a dashed or grayed out line) that still is connected to the node, but shows that it is not currently being used.

I think you can report this as a bug. Hiding input sockets using menus is intended behavior on node groups but I this occuring on a Mix nodes is could be an unintended behavior. I 100% agree with you this is more confusing than anything
I was considering on reporting it as an Issue. I will try. The hiding on the nodegroups is ok for not showing them, but I think that this same confusing principle applies. I would hide the input slots, but keep the noodles showing (kind of greyed out) too. Otherwise you would also think in that situation that certain nodes are not being used, which is not true.
A bug report was filed and developpers are now aware of this. projects.blender.org/blender/blender/issues/159815
When working with Menu Switch nodes, inactive connections can definitely look confusing. A dashed or grayed-out line for unused outputs would instantly clarify that the node is still connected, just not active right now. This small visual change would prevent accidental deletions. Many users assume disconnected-looking nodes are safe to remove, which can break entire workflows without warning. A simple opacity change or dotted line style would be enough to solve this. It would also help beginners understand node-based workflows faster without needing to trace every connection manually each time.
