remove Animation tab

seems to be that tab appeared in Blender version 5. i never use it and doesn't plan to. why i just can't hide it? who asked for this tab???! it's a waste of N-panel space. please give an option to remove/hide it. the best solution would be it's hidden at all. those 3-5 users who really need this tab could enable it at settings. animTab.jpg

It was a addon, but now is part of blender core itself...

but yes would be ideal to toggle it off, for the none animators that don't need it, in the user preferences...

Exactly. And besides the Global Transform Panel ('Ex-Extension'), the Animation Tab is a common recipient to various Panels pertaning to Addons & Extensions for Animation; just to name a few:

  • Wiggle 2 Addon
  • AnimAll
  • Jiggle Physics

can't see your upvotes, guys ((

I wouldn't want it removed entirely or anything (its pretty useful outside of animation), but I definitely feel like copy/pasting transforms could be better-integrated into the software since its so useful...

maybe an option to copy/paste in the transformation section of an object/bone's properties?

People who do not animate have no use for animation tools: got it.
It could be nice to have a way to disable things you don't need in order to save some screen space: got it.

But do you have to be dismissive of the mere existence and significance of people who do need and use animation tools? And do you have to ask to lessen their experience out of the box?

Swap the situation: what would you say if someone asked " who asked for modeling tools???! it's a waste of space! Please add an option to hide them. And honestly it would be best disabled by default. The 2-3 people who may need them can still enable them back anyway! "

well as you could see in a description, i said that the main goal is the ability to hide it, turn it on/off for those who don't need it. the option should be an OPTION, not a compulsion. i have nothing against it would be FORCEDLY turned on in the Animation workspace, but why the hell do we need it in the Modeling (and all other workspaces)? :-) as i know, blender is primarily (!) a software for creating 3d models, not primarily animations. if it were about Maya, i would understand your indignation.
