Reminder to Apply Scale

I have been learning to use Blender for about 6 months, and the biggest frustration I have is to remember to apply scale before saving and losing the progress I made. I remember the Paper clip guy in Word, which could be turned off when he became annoying. If we could have a friendly reminder for important steps like this, in our beginning phases, it would be so helpful, and much appreciated.
