Keyframe collection enable, and/or visibility ect..

in blender we really lack the ability to keyframe collections enable tickbox, ideally we should be able to attach these to camera markers so that each shot can have a set of collection relevant for that shot, Background elements, lighting ect..

Today the only way to do that is making collection instances of all our collections, and keyframing these for our shots, but it's a pain as we either have both existing at once, or we're unable to edit them as they're col instance.

There's probably adodn that allows that, but no simple obvious one as far as I know Capture d’écran 2024-05-21 143656.jpg .

I think, animatable enabling checkbox is expected to be enough, collection management is massively overloaded already...

One isn't meant to produce long-form animations with multiple scenes and camera cuts in this manner.

One absolutely is, and that's the principle reason for blender to exist from my standpoint, we just made a 7 minutes short film that got selected in Annecy 2025 the biggest animation film festival in the world, using that exact method, which was absolute hell to manage in terms of lighting just because we can't animate collection visibility. BUT i've just made an addon that absolutely perfectly soves the issue, and with zero click you can polish your lighting and composition on a per-camera-basis, as that's essential to cinematography. Will release it this weekend hopefully, should be named LightCuts. A Whole film in a single scene, it's the dream of any animation filmmaker, pure seamlessness.
