Reworking of Assest system

I would love to be able to save individual asset types as their own unique files. It would be much easier to organise, reorganise and access assets this way.

The current system is confusing, difficult to organise, and inefficient in its approach to saving.

You should also be able to save assets with options for deciding if you want materials, UVmaps, etc. saved seperately but linked to them as well.

I have mastered most of Blender, but still struggle to get this system to function a way that I find easy and useful. Which is a shame, because it is a great feature to have.

Downvoted for being vague and not specific enough about how to rework it. The asset system is still actively being built. Asking the devs to stop in the middle and rework it from the beginning without giving them a clear roadmap that makes sense is wasting time.

You can create a file for your asset library from which you can append files. If you save each asset individually, you may end up with a bunch of assets that can only be used in a specific .blend file, which is why things like UVs and materials are stored there.
