Better font management in Blender and use them on Demands.

Sometimes I work a lot with fonts. There are 100 types of fonts. and each font has its variant font style such as thin, Bold, Italics, etc. Blender currently has multiple issues about fonts:

  1. You have to use file browser, select and import only one font Style.

It doesn't only mean you have to import 100 font for 100 times, it also means for each font you have to import its font style each time. Assume each font contains 3 font styles, then it's 300 times.

  1. You can preview the font by its Icon only with text of "AaBg", and you can only see how your text looks with this font after you import.

I don't know how EFGH will look like for this font, not to say that I don't know how it will look like for other languages. If this font isn't what I want, I have to repeat step 1 blindly. It's a little like drawing the lottery.

  1. Font not being used will be deleted without notice.

this is a general problem in blender about user count and fake user design. While this is tolerable for many other datablocks. Considering the amount of fonts we have, the issue becomes much more problematic.

The example solutions provided by operating system and many other softwares seem very common, where you have a dropdown menu to allow you scroll all fonts and see the changes on demand. I hope similar kind of thing can be implemented in blender.

I find an addon that can mitigate most of the issues and confirm it's still working in 4.1 despite being untouched for at least 3 years. I hope this kind of functionality should be built in blender for better integration and maintenance: github.com/samytichadou/FontSelector_blender_addon/releases
