Graph editor: zooming only one axis

Right now, if you hover the mouse anywhere over the Graph Editor and scroll the mouse wheel, you zoom in/out in both X and Y dimensions

But imagine I wanted to keep looking at frames 0--40 (i.e. X fixed) while framing all the Y extent of the curve into view. So far I think the only option is to manually drag the axis indicator:

Very clumsy!

It would feel SO MUCH more natural to hover over the axis indicator and scroll!

Can the Graph Editor window be made in such a way that **scrolling while hovering on the axis indicator only zooms that axis?**

(another nice addition would be: Ctrl + Home button = like the Home button, but only along X. Shift + Home button = like the Home button, but only along Y)

There is also:

  • Ctrl+MMB+X mouse movement - scales X
  • Ctrl+MMB+Y mouse movement - scales Y

@Pawel Piotrowski: Oh, I see, it's true! Good to know, but since it's not really constrained to the axes I still stand by my proposal. Thanks :)
