Blender Loading Screen not Splash Screen

This is kinda a minor suggestion, but could blender please get a loading screen, instead of the grey screen that temporarily shows when one is opening blender. There exists a splash screen but thats after that weird grey screen shows, which sometimes just freezes od shows "*Unsaved" or "Not Responding" Temporarily.

While blender usually only takes 2-3 seconds to launch, if it takes slightly longer Windows will "frost" the blank window and label it as "Not Responding" which indeed is not very elegant.

If a Loading screen is implemented I would suggest the following:

  • The new "loading screen" is nothing more than the existing splashscreen's image, without the other UI elements below it
  • Place it at exactly the same screen position that the existing splashscreen would end up
  • Once loading is complete you can show the main blender window and regular splashscreen (if configured) with its normal buttons

This would produce the least amount of visual movement and would eliminate the gray full-screen window that is currently present.
