movie texture - image sequence iterator
In my latest project i want to add a image sequence as a movie texture, but i have only 12 pictures. the animation should last 240 frames. so each picture from the sequence should be displayed 20 frames. can you add such an option to display single images for more than 1 frame? maybe even use a curve, so you could set the display frame count of each image manually?

I agree that allowing to plug a curve or even the value node into the image texture node to control the frames of your sequence would be super valuable. In my case I have a plane object with 2d animated impact VFX. I could make it play repeatedly and timed with the character animation if I could control when it plays. Kind of like how impacts trigger in video games every time a hit connects.
Have you tried keyframing the "Offset" value ? I think it should do what you want.
I just tried it and it works.
Indeed. If the Image Sequence node (in Cycles at least) could have a Frame Step value, that would be quite handy.
!! frame step and repeat frame is something different..!! both would be nice though
Not if the frame step value is less than one. ;)
When combined with texture painting, this would also be useful for some 2d animation techniques.
