Node value description change

Coming at this from a hobbyists perspective I wonder whether the following (paper cut?) solution might make things better for most of us.

Would it be better if nodes' "input value for unconnected socket" either include or be changed to a description of what is. for example the Falloff node is one of many that includes the socket like "Smoothness".

For those of us trying to learn the peripheral info used, this direction of what to do doesn't help if we don't know what the socket is asking for or what form eg. image or #value to input.
