QOL: pressing ctrl+f with a selection in the text editor will auto fill the search bar

I would like ctrl+f with a selection within the text editor to autofill the search bar area for finding similar text. Many other code editors do this functionality by default (such as Visual Studio Code). Needing to copy and paste is a slight annoyance. I don't use the text editor for writing scripts, but I do utilize it for searching through source python code which can be very long scripts that require frequent finding with the Find & Replace tool.

I find this issue quite frustrating. The pre-population works when you use ctrl-g (find next), but not ctrl-f (find) -- which is weird.
