GN Visual Feedback
Hi;
Are you planning on adding visual viewport feedback to GN any time soon? Not just indices, but custom normals and custom created vectors as well and of course, also color data?
Also, please allow me to congratulate you for all the great work and effort you put into GN and Blender all throughout, you guys are awesome and the community loves you all so much :)
Take care and god speed;
AJ

And on a side node; right now, GN works exactly like a VOP operator in Houdini, that is; it's an iterator, it keeps running through geometry components. Yet, there are attributes the user will want to get to and see to confirm, like the bounding box center of a given mesh island/shell. The viewer node displays such attributes as per component values, which is wrong imo, simply because it was designed and implemented to display per-component attributes. Animation nodes has a fairly good visualizer that can display vector positions and matrices, with the exception of vector lines, their magnitudes and directions What GN needs is a unified visual feedback node, that can parse and display both singular and per-component attributes ranging from vector positions as a dot in space, vector lines with direction and magnitude, component id's and other float attributes and last but not least, color as vector!
Right now what I'm doing is I create a material called "inspector", I add an Attribute Node and set the attribute to "a".
Then in GN, I output a value that I assign to "a" in the modifiers properties.
This lets me visualize any value and it even works with Eevee.
Yes, but that is only good for visualizing float attribute values. What I meant was a way to facilitate the visualization of all sort of parameters, especially Vector length and direction without any workarounds, as there exists in Houdini. The spreadsheet is basically half of this paradigm, the other half is being able to see Vectors and progression of point attribute values on the mesh itself.
