get rid of the modifier panel and just have nodes.

having both modifier stacks and nodes that do the same thing is a bit convoluted.

I think it would be better to just do away with the modifier stack entirely, and just move all modifiers to the node editor. Same as in the other leading node based 3d applications.

It would also be much easier to read, as there'd be much less scrolling up and down/minimising and maximising etc.

yeah much less scrolling around and a lot more opening up the node view. why not just get rid of the material list and force everybody to dig through shader graphs? How on earth is looking at a UI full of spaghetti easier than the modifier list?

not a fan of this proposal, in case it wasn't obvious :)

neither, while i agree that geometry nodes certainly are useful - I see absolutely no benefit to removing funcitonality that many people (including myself) are used to and find to work perfectly well. I personally think the modifier stack is easier to understand than the geometry nodes and removing the modifiers would just be irritating, especailly for beginners who often find nodes quite intimidating.
