Respect for collections layers (bollean issue)
Regarding this bug or limitations: developer.blender.org/T89182
Take point how hard is to duplicate objects to easy stay with some properties, eg. hiden object to exclude this as part in boolean modifier. Eg. duplicate with parents without selecting all is hard, should be duplicated main object as parent and rest of as childs with this.
By this want suggest to offer include collection/group as object from other scene with properties from scene and 1st layer or select other layer.
In Doors_example/Doors/Group/Group should have option to manage object to fill full the posibilites to attach modifiers, eg. bool to collection in right way.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say.
I started using the add-on that grouping objects, and append. After grouping, this add-on doing own Scenes "Libs" and there we have some grouped objects - thats ok, but for modifiers or other cases wee need some "artificial" objects to apply modifiers. Eg. on doors to made whole in wall by modificator I used some Cube to cut this by boolean mod. And this cut by boolean mod working on Scene "Libs" where I hiden this objects (like special layer - not render, hide, etc). But after using this grouped object or collection in main scene, this setting for layer that hiding this object is reseted in other scene that is used to render (adding collection, etc. not inherits the layers switch show/hide)

It's compact solid object as one. The green cube that should cut the whole on wall can be hidden. Boolean works to whole collection, but in this collection is this "temp" object that should be hidden, but can't be.

In short word trying do something like mask from collection not object in boolean modificator.
