Allow us to select any viewer from the spreadsheet
It would be useful to have every viewer in your network (regardless of whether in a group or not) be available at all times in the spreadsheet. That way you could click on a viewer to see its values just by selecting it from the list in the spreadsheet.
This would need a few additional features to make it completely usable:
- You should be able to name the viewer in this view
- You should be able to see the numbered shortcut (if any) this viewer has
- You should be able to optionally activate the viewer without changing the 3D view display (i.e. just see the data but not change what is being displayed)
- You should be able to select a viewer in this view and then jump to its node in the network.
- Tooltips hovering over the viewer should give its path (via breadcrumbs)
Apologies for the crappy image, but hopefully it gets the idea across.
Edit: zuorion has a proposal for the UI that is probably better than this. This UI was just a broad idea of the kinds of functionality that I think is needed. The actual UI could be better incorporated as per zuorion's sugestion.

Sorry, I am not following. Are you saying that every viewer is already listed in the spreadsheet? I can't seem to replicate that. If I select a viewer I do get a viewer path and the data evaluated at that point in the network, but that is it.
I don't see any way to switch between viewers using the spreadsheet.
Edit: rereading my original post I can see that it may be unclear. I will update it.
Sorry for lazy comment, i mean it is already stuff related to your Your proposal there, so You should incorporate it to them.
There is already dropdown to chose what’s displayed regardless of whats in 3d view (also there is "Pin" option) and there is "viewer" option. So if there is already option to chose viewer, option to chose which viewer should be displayed, should be in same place instead of duplicating UI.
Ah. That makes sense. I am not wedded to my UI proposal. Just anything that allows us to select the viewer from the spreadsheet is good. I will amend my original post to reference yours.
