Did anyone suggest X(+Y +Z)-mirror tool option for GP drawing yet?
and no, I don't mean as a modifier. I mean a mirror tool that automatically places strokes on the opposite side of the drawing.

Modifier. Apply and sculpt if you need. Modifier is better than destructive way: you can put mirror plain freely. So explain widely, why do you need destructive way
* @ Vyacheslav * The wording of the proposal is weird but it's core is very useful. Basically it's the difference between how ZBrush or Modo work symmetricl as opposed to a 100% symmetricl modifier.
Both have their merits for different applications. Working on a model that is mostly symmetrical but has broken symmetry in a few places is a typical usecase for this. Or you have a finished model and realized need to insert a few symmetrical edgeloops for better deformaton but already have all the UVs and materials set up so there's no way in hel you are going to eliminate half of your mesh again. doing the exact same thing on both sides can be veeeery tedious, though.... With a pure modifier approach you have symmetry do or die or you have to do at least long winded setups with vertex groups or apply symmetry first and go on sculpting or delete half of your mesh etc.
The proposal isn't fleshed out at all and worded a little clumsy but I also would love if blender fully supported both.
* @motionblur.of.doom * You are talking about modeling. And sculpt acts exact this way: it applies mirrored action instead making mirrored mesh. But for GP there is layers. And you can apply or not mirror for certain strokes.

If I get it right, you suppose I should:
what I propose is for there to be the same exact button as there is in
sculpt mode ( docs.blender.org/manual/en/2.82/sculpt_paint/sculpting/tool_settings/symmetry.html ),
mesh editing ( docs.blender.org/manual/en/2.82/modeling/meshes/editing/mesh_options.html )
and even bone editing ( docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/animation/armatures/posing/editing.html ):
Simple toggle-able symmetry. There is one in every normal drawing software, why not blender?

So you suggest just XYZ mirror, okay, may be it will be useful sometimes. But mirroring for sculpt or modelling is relative to origin. In 2d it will be useless. Most 2D softwares use free axis for mirroring. So GP should use 3D cursor at least.
Please think longer and elaborate your proposal with details. Think how it will work in real cases, not just in vacuum.
what?
