[Suggestion for] Exclude from Auto Keying

Hey! When I am animating I use autokeying. Very handy. But often I need to change something considering Models or Scenery, that I don't want to move in my animation itself. (changing background props for example) And whenever I move something, I need to disable autokeying first so a new action isn't created for something, that is not supposed to move at all, which is 1) annoying, and 2) I sometimes forget to turn it back on when going back to animating the armature.

I am aware that there are keying sets and you can create your own. But when you have an armature with 200 bones, and you need to apply every channel for every group manually by hand? It's not very performant.

For that case, I'd like to suggest an option that excludes certain objects from Autokeying. So you can move these objects, without having to disable Auto Keying first and without spending hours to create a custom keying set. (in the form of a boolean)

I imagine it being in the object properties , somewhere near Visibility or maybe in the transform tab itself.

In the user preferences, under "Animation" enable the setting "Only insert available". This means only channels that are already keyed are auto-keyed

When it comes to animation, there’s still room for improvement, no doubt about that. For instance, what really frustrates me is when I want to insert a keyframe at a specific point in the movement of an already animated object without changing anything—just to keep the values as they are and perhaps use it as a freeze frame. This used to work in the past, but now you can only keyframe the parameters that you actually change. Moreover, if I want to insert a keyframe on the X, Y, and Z axes, but only the Z axis has changes, I can't keyframe the X and Y axes.

check the user preferences under "Animation". You probably want to disable the "Only Insert Needed" for either manual or auto keying.
