025 In text boxes should translate to 0.25
I'm not sure why most software doesn't do this yet, but as I understand it makes perfect sense to convert numbers starting with 0 to decimals in any text boxes. 02 would be 0.2 002 would be 0.02
Technically writing .2 and .02 is the same number of clicks but especially on different keyboard layouts, sometimes numpad "Del" button types "," and sometimes "." which is finicky and also simply writing a few zeroes is easier than writing "." and then "0"

The underlying code might interpret numbers starting with zero as octal notation. It's a fix that can probably be done but is probably a lot more work than just rejecting the bad number.
Didn't consider that but it seems octal notations require a different prefix copying over an error I get when typing in 05 into location. "Error evaluating number, see Info editor for details: leading zeros in decimal integer literals are not permitted; use an 0o prefix for octal integers"
Blender should always interpret [Numpad Del] as Decimal separator, cause that button is literally Decimal separator.
In text inputs it gives "," or "." or whatever you set in OS as decimal separator. But in number inputs it should always be decimal separator no matter what symbol program uses.
Yup agree, that's quite annoying in a lot of software, a lot of applications bug out with "," and "." for the separator
Know that feeling. I've changed separator symbol in my OS solely for that reason -_-.
BEST THING EVER. MANY WOW, SO MUCH YES
Think there is a problem on automatic gernerated tables like geocoordinates, there are some like 000001001.01 etc., think this problems are in other databasetools too so there might be problems doing this by default, maybe only make sence by activating a checkbox in the preferences.
Didn't think of geocoordinates but if these have a decimal separator then the start of 0 could just be ignored? If not I guess it'd need to either be an option or there would have to be a conversion that happens somewhere.
