Make functionality of "Shift" and "Ctrl" consistent with lists and every other software and platform

Everywhere you look, ctrl let's you multiselect specifically between pinpointed elements, while shift let's you select large areas of elements between two things.

While selecting elements in blender, the opposite is ussually true. Vertex are selected individually with Shift, and including the connecting geometry with Ctrl

This is a big change in muscle memory, so should probably be a part of a big number version change, like the upcoming 5.0 version.

This is as mind-bending and controlversial as changing right-click select to left-click select, but, also just like it, it makes the software more accesible to new users and standard to general UX practice.

I use multiple softwares, including Max among others, and while it's true these keys are changed, I cannot see the problem. The only time muscle memory messes with me is with the navigation controls in the viewport.

And it's fixable by customizing my blender and changing some shortcuts, which is what the keymap is for.

This suggestion has a simple workaround and most users are already user to how blender works and if they ever have to deal with a different software, they'll find a solution if they need any.

And new users don't have problems selecting things, have problems understanding some of the abstractions of the software.
