Highlight/Overlay objects with scale / rotation not yet applied in object mode

Since objects having scale / rotation not applied in object mode causes lots of issues (modifier stack, animations, etc), it would be great to add an overlay option to show these objects highlighted in some way (red border) in object mode until those transforms are applied.

I think this one would save everyone a lot of headache - cause there's just no way to 'see' that they haven't been applied.

This sounds like something that could easily be done with an add-on. Something along the lines of this:

bpy.ops.object.select_all(action="DESELECT")

for ob in bpy.data.objects:
    if ((ob.scale != Vector((1, 1, 1,)) or (ob.rotation_euler != Euler((0, 0, 0), "XYZ"))):
        ob.select_set(True)

The site kind of botched my indents and you'd want to add additional checks for other rotation types (and should probably exclude objects like the camera and maybe lights), but this will select every object that doesn't have their scale or rotation applied.

* @Jason van Gumster * - definitely true, but, due to the confusion it causes those new to blender, would be best if fit into core engine imho

* @JeffG * An add-on can still ship with Blender. Cycles does.
