Select Similar (Length and Direction) on UV Editor
Hello, so long story short I am using Marvelous Designer for a lot of my work and extensively fixing the mesh further on Blender, now there is a very specific issue that bothers me a lot when importing MD mesh to Blender, particularly the piping system that doesn't have quad mode in MD and the problem starts when trying to make the mesh to all quads within Blender.
Pic below shows you what happened when you import piping mesh system from MD to Blender. It was exported with OBJ exporter but it does not matter the results will always the same.
Now if only the "select similar" tools exist in the UV editor to delete those triangulation edges because the UV from MD is very clean and in well order, maybe the select similar length and direction could be very useful if implemented inside UV editor. Blender and MD would have a very good pipeline relationship.
Thank you for Reading
TL;DR Implement "select similar" tool especially in length and direction on UV Editor.

This is a good idea. I've been in the exact same scenario as you several times, and in those cases, Alt-J doesn't get everything or it'll sometimes group the wrong two tris together. In those cases, more UV selection operations would make for an easy way to solve the problem. It seems like an obscure case, but I think this would be helpful in other scenarios. It would also open up some new opportunities for different modeling techniques.
I think what you want is to turn tris-to-quads? And you want to use the UVs to choose which edges to select? I'm not sure what you're proposing.
I would suggest, however, to try selecting every face on the mesh and pressing alt-J to convert tris-to-quads. This may do what you want, I don't think it affects UVs.
Also, for the sake of the proposal, it's not very important WHY you want a feature. It's best to describe WHAT you want to do instead, since other people probably want the same feature for different reasons. Select-Similar in the UV editor would be a good feature for anyone. With that in mind I think you should change the name of the post to something like "Select Similar in the UV editor."
* @Josephbburg * Alt-j to convert tris-to-quads does not work effectively, the tool sometimes does not read the diagonal part.
for the second part, I will do as you ask.
