Camera View - Dolly should Move Camera, Zoom should change Focal Length
When you 'Lock Camera to View' there are two controls that do the same thing:
-
Ctrl + Middle Mouse = Dolly Camera
-
Ctrl + Shift + Middle Mouse = Dolly Camera
It should be:
-
Ctrl + Middle Mouse = Dolly Camera
-
Ctrl + Shift + Middle Mouse = Zoom Camera (Change Focal Length) while camera does not move
For some reason it even has the two different terms but the controls do the same thing. Thank you devs for your hard work!!!

ctrl + shift + middle mouse is dolly whereas ctrl - middle mouse is just smooth viewport FOV rather than using wheel increments, not really designed around locked camera, you can use 'W,1' to scale focal ength or assign a quicker hotkey
btw thats in camera view, in normal perpspective view ctrl + mmb is smooth dolly and adding Shift increases the value, this is actually pretty inconsistent as Shift key usually lowers sensitivity such as when transforming and sliding values
* @PTCreative * Yes, I am refering to Camera View only. If they want Shift to only lower sensitivity then it is a blatant typo in the interface. Dolly is not Zoom - they are two completely different things. Either they should change the name, or change the functionality. Right now, it is objectively wrong.:-D Thanks for the feedback!
