Project/Collection Wide Material Browser with Color Presets

Currently Blender only shows materials and their attributes when a model with that material is selected. This can be a problem when the user simply needs to edit a lot of materials in a scene without searching through the objects.

A good way to do this would be to incorporate an editor that can display collection-wide which materials are in the scene and on a click open their attributes to edit them.

Now there is a very nice addon for this already: blog.gregzaal.com/2015/08/04/introducing-matalogue/

I'd still vote on the feature to be incorporated into Blender by default because I feel this is a necessary feature for speed and clarity. Especially on imported scenes from other applications attributes for materials are rarely retained beyond the bare basics. Here the user should really be able to swiftly see which materials even are in the scene and just edit them.

Additionally a list of color presets with color naming would be of great benefit. For example if you have strict color presets for certain metals or need to work with a consistent color coding across a large project this is more than just handy.
