Multi Exr output update

When you do your compositing outside of blender, exr passes name carry the name of the renderlayer , this mean that for each new render layer, you have to re-make all your compositing.

Solution Just ouput the passes(depth, UV, motion, Direct lighting etc...) to the file without adding the render layer name to the passe name, and add the render layer name to the filename.

Hope it make sense

bonus: render layer node in the compositor could have a check box : read from file, passes would be the same :)

lsscpp

so, renderlayer tell the name of the file, single passes are level names?

Why not just use multi-layer EXR? Or am I misunderstanding your suggestion?

I use multi exr, this is the problem, passes carry the render layer name, it makes the compositing outside of blender a nightmare.

instead of having one file like this output.exr : background.diffCol.RGB background.diffInd.RGB background.diffDir.RGB .... character.diffCol.RGB character.diffInd.RGB character.diffDir.RGB .....

I would like to have one file per render layer, like this

output.background.exr: diffCol.RGB diffInd.RGB diffDir.RGB ... and output.character.exr: diffCol.RGB diffInd.RGB diffDir.RGB ...

So passes name are consistants
