Missing smooth relax brush for sculpt
I am a big fan of the relax brush in Maya. It allows you to get a very evenly distributed geometry without changing the shape. I know there is a filter that does that but it's really not the same. To have it as a brush allows you to apply it precisely. For now, I'm using the smooth brush but I always have to fix the shape after.

This is in 2.82 IIRC. And a few other nice brushes!
Also, if you have a few dollars to spend Volume Preserving Smooth is the best addon I've ever bought, maybe even the best of all I've ever used (sans my own!). I can't recommend it highly enough, in fact, I think you should pay more than the minimum on the gumroad page! I'm pretty sure I upped it by $3 and I want to go back and buy it again, just because I'm so happy with it. It's by Bartosz Styperek.
* @Josephbburg * Thanks for your answer. Good to know it will be in the 2.82 So just have to wait a bit and it'll be there... The addon also sounds good.
* @p.coenen * To be honest I didn't check exactly when it's coming but the brush is working. It might be best to mark this as "In development" until the official release (2.82 is still in beta for a few more weeks).
* @Josephbburg * Hi, I had a check on the Relax Brush. And even if this one look awesome it's not quite the one yet. What I mean is to have a smooth relax brush. So about the same behavior as the smooth brush but only affecting the topology (un the UV space so to speak) So I don't think we can consider that as done. And I have no idea if it is in development. I also talk to my dear friend Luc Warnant who is a really great sculptor and designer. He also wishes this (hope he will make a comment here)
* @p.coenen * How is the relax brush different than what you want?
* @Josephbburg * Oh OK the one I saw let you drag the mesh (which is dam useful also so it's not a critic on this brush) but you have to drag the mesh. What I was used to and think it is more important than the ability to drag the mesh is to smooth the topology while keeping the shape. To make a parallel it is a bit like if you will smooth an object that has a shrink wrap. So the mesh will glue to the shape but will be soothed. So you "paint" the relax as a relax smoothing. That will even the distance between the vertices. That's very different than to soft drag the topology.
* @p.coenen * You were looking at the topology brush. There is a new relax mesh filter that does this over the whole mesh (minus the masked portion) and a relax brush, too. Not sure if they're in master, though.
* @Josephbburg * Yes I have checked the 2.82 and indeed the side relax brush and the filter do the job. And it's working better than what I knew in Maya.
Thank you for your answers!...
* @p.coenen * Nice! I can't wait to try it out myself :D
