Batch Rename Start

batch rename normally starts renaming a series of objects from 0 and has a score to separate the progress of the objects. It would be nice if there was a possibility to better control from which object number to start and the score used to separate. Normally I use the _ to separate the name from the numbering but when I use batch rename it is so annoying that it is necessary to remove it or correct it somehow, it usually ends up as " _. "

I think the wording in the proposal is a bit confusing, "Batch Rename Start" doesn't say much.

If I understood correctly, what you propose is:

  1. Ability to set a custom offset number for naming objects.
  2. Ability to set a custom character as separator for multiple objects with the same name.

In that case:

  1. How would that work? Would that be a number field or a text field or something else?
  2. I think this shouldn't be part of the batch rename tool, but a user preference that should apply every time you duplicate an object.
