Asset-Browser: Subfolders to Asset-Library or Catalogue Entry

I really would like to see the feature for the Asset-Browser that transforms subfolders to the Asset-Library or Catalogue Entry.

For example, I have a couple of folders for the HDR Assets. All are classified to a specific subject as interior, exterior, buildings, fields, streets, then daylight, night, midday, noon, and so on. That are just the HDRs not to speak of the Materials or other Assets.

If you make an entry for every folder in the Asset Libraries Blender Preferences, then the list got very long and it is very hard to fast pick the asset for the scene. I am not a programmer and i do not know how to achive that goal at all. I have a lot of Assets seperated, every material or other assets are mostly in a single file. I could load them into one .blend file but the files where so huge, that would be not so good.

You can add subfolders in the asset browser already.

You can add catalogues, but I don't think subfolders can be easily turned into catalogues? If it's possible please tell me how, because I've been missing this feature

I don't think folders can become catalogs in the way you are thinking. You are right.
