Add curve sampling method to get evenly spaced points
Add a curve sampling method to the
Curve to Points
node that gets a set of points along the curve where the linear (i.e. Cartesian) distance between points is equal. This is distinct from the current
Length
method that uses the arc-length of the curve.
This would be useful in, for example, placing a segments of a fence with a curve. The current sampling methods measure the arc-length, which results in poor alignment of these assets.
Ideally, I would want the input to simply be a
Curve
and a desired
Length
. For my needs, it is not necessary to have the sample list include the final control point.
Furthermore, the
Rotation
field should be a rotation that aims at the next point in the sequence.

I've started working on this here: projects.blender.org/blender/blender/pulls/113921
With the addition of Repeat nodes, this is now possible entirely within geometry nodes. I'd prefer a native solutions since it would mean less spaghetti, but this will do for now. A working .blend file has been added to this stack exchange answer:

I found this request after just posing a similar one. My version is slightly different as I feel it needs to consider curves that may have multiple solutions to the next equidistant point along the curve.

Forgive me for doubling up on the request.
