Scientific notation or Easily dealing with high or very low values

The greater the value the harder it is to change with the mouse.

For lower value we have the Shift option to be more precise, but with even lower values the problem remain.

The idea woud be to use (or switsh to) scientific notation, to change rather the base or the exponent. (The base would be a float and the exponent an integer.)

Nuke has this very nice feature (simplified), where we can scroll every digit separately.

Here is an idea that how it could be, but any solution would be great I think.
