Shareable Modifier System in Blender
The idea is to make modifiers work similarly to materials, allowing them to be shared across multiple objects. In this system, objects requiring the same modifier settings could use a linked modifier, so that any changes made to it would automatically update all objects sharing it.
Features and Benefits:
-
One edit updates all linked objects instantly.
-
Eliminates repetitive manual setup.
-
Ensures consistency and speeds up global adjustments.
Works with both standard Blender modifiers and Geometry Nodes. Applying a shared modifier could be as simple as dragging its icon onto an object, just like applying a material. This would streamline not only the application process but also the overall modifier management in complex projects.

Geometry nodes? X)
That is what geonodes do, i guess you want to copy the modifers of one object to another while having any changes persist without going through and making drivers?
geonodes aren't at the level of modifiers yet tho, you can do a lot really fast and stuff like decimate isn't a thing in geonodes
basically this, the main thing is to be able to modify a value in an object x, and this change can be valid for all objects that share that modifier, similar to what we have with shades
