Extending color options for weight paint preview gradients
The weigth paint could have additional colors for viewing the paint data. Like grayscale, only black and white (0 and 1) and also using the black and white colors next to the RGB getting with more than the 3 basic colors (WRGBK gradient).
See below, in the skirt model, how you can not see the difference in the intensity of influence of certain areas using only gray scales (2-color based gradient), compared to the RGB scale (3-color gradient)!
I apologize to the community for being so incredibly vague in the latest version of this suggestion: "Ideas for some extra little things for weight paint"

You can customize the weight gradient in preferences
* @ Lsscpp * Look, I do not know if that's what I say. The difference between a weight paint with only white and black colors and one with grays between white and black is not just visual. You can see more transitions in areas of influence. That is, mathematically, it would be the difference between 0 and 1 and 0 and 100. With RGB we have even more values (viewable by colors), I am proposing to add two more colors for even more displayable mathematical values. One thing I think they have done but I can not tell in which place / software.
* @thiagocavalcantecarvalho * Then you need to make a mock-up that explains what you're saying... because your words aren't doing it alone.
"determining areas of influence and how much influence the area will receive or will be influenced"
That is a wrong description.
* @-L0Lock- * Really? Which one is right? I always thought that was it.
Weight painting is only a way to assign values to vertices. Only that. " areas of influences" is one way to use vertex groups to achieve some goals. One way among other ways and other goals.
* @-L0Lock- * Well, I had never thought that. But it's alright.
