custom view layer overrides

Sometimes I want to render out an animation using view layers in one scene so I can pack them all into one multilayer exr, but this isn't always possible because often I need to change render settings that arent exposed in the view layers overrides, such as transparency, or adaptive sampling noise threshold etc.

It would be great if you could right click on any option in the properties editor, and click on an option called 'add to overrides for current view layer', after which you could change the setting without it affecting the other view layers in the scene.

I know you can create multiple scenes and then set up a compositor to put them all together in a file output node, but the file output node doesnt seem to allow multiple passes per layer, whereas the exr generated by the ctrl + f12 render animation can create an exr that has a layer per view layer, and each layer contains all the passes for that view layer.
