Jump to keyboard letter for file browser
It would be super-cool if the file and addon browser would recognize a keypress so that you could jump to that letter in the list of items.
Having to re-install addons for each Blender update is one example of what this simple feature could streamline.

Why would you have to re-install? You can copy over the preferences folder with one click.
True, but only at first startup of a new installed version, which can be easily missed.
But being able to jump to a file or folder from a keypress is quite a useful feature in file browsing.
I'm not saying it's not. Just asking.
The downside though is that then you'd lose all the single-letter shortcuts. I'm personally find with it, and unify shortcuts with regular file browsers/finder.
If it means losing existing shortcuts then never mind. Question though, how do other Windows apps managed to accomplish this while retaining their keyboard shortcuts for other things?
