Viewport colors as AOV in nodetree
This might become obsolete with the rework on viewport but anyway, having the viewport colors not in the material panel but directly in the shading tree would be cool.
ps: i forgot to place the alpha input

I was thinking about maybe implementing this myself, but I ask myself if this is possible? The output is not something that is used during rendering, but in the viewport. When will it be evaluated? I don't know how blender works internally about these things. Would be cool if someone who does know could tell me if it is feasible to simply add such a node? Who can I ask?
Guess the better approach would be a separate "Viewport Output" instead of incorporating it into the Material Output.. Color, Metallic, Roughness are the variables.. that defenately deserves a separate node ;-) I've been asking for this feature since I don't know.. years! Also tried it myself to code.. but it's just a bit too obscure code for my brain. So here's my +1
It would probably be worth it to indicate what AOV is short for.
