More than 30 recent files :(

Hi guys! I looked everywhere to find solution to this problem. No luck finding the answer elsewhere so far. I have to go through more than 100 blender files for a game art created over the years. This 30 files limit was ment for older machines but if someone has need for bigger number of recent files and a capable system there is no way to set it to any bigger number. Not for 2.7 nor for 2.8. I asked how to make all blender versions show more than 30 recent files in so many different places and nobody had answer to that. If you know how please share the way with me? Or if you know somebody who might know the answer could you please direct me to this person? Thank you so much guys!

Why not to expose this value to users like undo number. So people could decide for themselves how much of recent files to have :/ Wierd overlooked hardcoded unsolvable issue? Maybe will be added in later builds ? No hope to implement fix in allready existing pre 2.8 builds? At least in 2.79?(

* @musolo78 * it is possible to download 2.79 code and change it also there

(but again you have to know how to compile blender Yourself)

30 is hardcoded

You would have to change that in code and compile yourself (or ask someone who can)

source/blender/makesrna/intern/rna_userdef.c line 6037

  prop = RNA_def_property(srna, "recent_files", PROP_INT, PROP_NONE);
      RNA_def_property_range(prop, 0, 30);
      RNA_def_property_ui_text(
          prop, "Recent Files", "Maximum number of recently opened files to remember");

and change 30 in RNA_def_property_range(prop, 0, 30); to whatever (up to 32,766)

I think it‘s not possible, maybe you can to set the number in the Code higher, i think ist should ne just ohne Variable, baut for this you have to have experience with Blender Code to find it. In this won‘t for you you can try to make a Feature request.
