Measure tool - snap to axis

It's good that there is a measurement tool in Blender, but i think it could use a bit of tweaking as in its current state it doesn't work very precise. I suggest two added features:

  1. the possibility to snap to vertex the first point. Holding ctrl, you can do this for the second point but not for the first. (or am i missing something?)
  2. After the first point is selected, holding z,x or y to snap to a certain axis would be very useful.

Please improve also:

  • Let them visible in edit mode. So we can use them for reference.
  • Make snap to measurepoints possible, like to geometry. For precise modelling.
  • Make snap to median points possible. So we can measure from the middle of a face for example.
  • Let measure points snap to measure points. Also for precise modelling.
  • A measure circle would help for round objects.

The measure tool will already snap to an edge/vertex by default when you start drawing if you're close enough to it: No need to hold Ctrl. You can also go back to the first point and edit it, holding Ctrl will snap it. I don't see a reason why x/y/z axes snapping can't be added though. Those keys are unused while editing the measurements.

I see. I was never certain that the first snaps but still, in very dense areas it would be nice if it would give visual feedback what vertex it snaps to. Usually it shows a little cirkel, I don't see a reason why it wouldn't do that here aswell.
