Blender Expert Needed for Innovative Medical Education Video Project

We are seeking a talented and experienced Blender expert to support us in creating a series of cutting-edge patient education videos on congenital kidney and urinary tract malformations-you will work closely with our clinical colleagues and medical physics professionals to develop accurate, engaging educational content for children born with congenital malformations

Responsibilities:

• Convert 3D smoothed models of congenital kidney and urinary tract malformations into animated videos using Blender
• Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the accuracy and clarity of the educational content
• Incorporate provided information on the incidence, causes, investigations, complications, and treatment of these malformations into the videos creating any necessary models of equipment or treatment
• Provide guidance and training to upskill our team in Blender and video creation techniques
• Co-create the final educational videos, ensuring they are visually appealing, informative, and easy for patients to understand

Desired Blender-Specific Skills:

1. Animation and Modelling

   • Shape keys and drivers for creating complex animations
   • Sculpting tools for organic modeling and detailing

2. Materials and Texturing

   • Shader nodes and materials for creating complex, realistic textures and surfaces
   • Texture painting tools for creating and editing textures directly on 3D models

3. Simulation and Dynamics

   • Physics simulation tools (soft body dynamics, fluid simulation, rigid body dynamics)
   • Particle hair system for particle-based effects

4. Scripting and Automation

   • Python scripting to automate tasks and create custom tools
   • Modifier stack for non-destructive modeling and procedural effects

5. Rendering and Output

   • knowledge of rendering engines and optimising render settings for efficient, high-quality output

Additional Desirable Skills:

• Experience in training and upskilling teams in Blender and video creation techniques
