Logitech Mx4 Mouse Haptic Feedback Support, Mouse vibrates as a guide when modelling lines align / centre or when animations impact/collide

Hi Guys

I recently purchased the Logitech MX4 mouse and noticed that a lot of editing softwares support haptic feedback with the MX4 mouse. Software that include DaVinci Resolve, Krita , OBS and ADOBE softwares.

I believe haptic feedback is the future when it comes to editing because we wouldn't need to only rely on visual cues when aligning stuff but the physical vibration sensation can also assist us in wokring faster. Maybe as we get get closer to aligning items the haptic feedback could get stronger and there could be a stronger or longer vibration when things are perfectly aligned. Or maybe there could be options for us to customise our experience.

This would not only increase our productivity but also make editing so much more exciting.

Maybe we could also feel the impact of animated objects in blender when it hits surfaces.

I hope the blender team can include haptic feedback with Logitech MX4 mouse and other future devices .

I know this would be a game changer for blender and it would drive more creators to blender since no other 3D software includes haptic feedback as yet. So if blender introduces this first , it will drive a lot of curios minds to blender.

Hi,

I've been using the MX Master 4 for a while as well, but since Blender doesn't support this feature out of the box, I actually built a workaround myself to use it.

I haven't released it properly yet, mostly because I only shared it on a Korean forum relatively recently.

It's definitely a great idea, but having developed for it myself, I think the chances of this becoming a native, built-in feature in Blender are close to zero. As it stands, it's a device-specific capability that isn't really relevant to Blender's core scope right now. Once haptic feedback becomes more standardized across hardware, it might be worth expecting then.

If you'd like to try it out, please download and install the two files from the link below. One is the Logitech plugin, and the other is the Blender add-on.

HI , Thank you for the great advice and the offer to test your workaround. I'm sure Blender will include support for haptic feedback in the near future, since a lot of editing softwares has already started including haptic feedback support and Blender is behind, but maybe in the meantime you can polish and sell your work around on the Superhive marketplace for at least a dollar. Your support for haptic feedback would be way ahead of Blender once they do release it because you already started. You definitely will have my support
