Ctrl + L for the Open... Import... etc. menus
I think has to do with integrating OS native keys or native "Open file" menu. Maybe that could even improve remembering file location each time that menu is opened, for example.

You mean for the F4 menu? I find it much more convenient since it's easily reachable with the left hand.
Many keyboard users haven't used their F# keys in years because it's annoying to have to also find their "FN" key to use them.
No, I mean the "Blender File View" menu used instead of the OS's native.
I think there's no away around it in the case for Import and Export because of the custom options.
But for Save as... and Open is a pain because this Blender File View(er) doesn't remember file location, so you have to search every time you do anything, and it's bad at seeing Sort by date, for example.
Obs. the .blend files preview that appears in this View(er) are so pretty though, indeed.
Ctrl+L already captured.
I mean in the File viewer, not the Link/Transfer Data hotkey
got it then : describe your idea widely and precisely
