compositor needs more functionality
Hi i think those essential compositing nodes should be added.
- roto, directly in the comp not just in the tracking
- timeshift
- frame hold
- contact sheet
also it seems that the file node cant render on its own?
has the compositor no caching for playback?

The file output node has been redesigned recently. What do you mean exactly with it can't render on its own?
There is no caching for playback indeed.
For the other suggestions it would be nice to explain how they would work and what you need them for (even though the name gives an idea what they are about). We are planning to introduce timing assets, so we may be able to cover time shift and frame hold soon.
