Remove Edit Mode (kinda)
A lot of people will swear at me, but i think edit mode should be accesible only to objects that have an edit mode modifier. This modifer stores the current topology modifications in a json format, so in that case the modelling part is a little bit more forgiving. This might allow accesing with F9 always the primitive functions or maybe a premitive modifier would allow that as well. so you dont have a short time frame to make adjustments on your initial object. I know this topic is controversial and has been talked for many many years, but i think a more polished solution like my examble below is possible. My example is far from perfect but i think these is more room to impove

Hey Loukas! Super interesting proposal! Is the add-on by chance available anywhere? Would like to take a look.
Hey Dangry, i am glad you like my idea. But again it is far from perfect. In this post i also have the txt file included. devtalk.blender.org/t/2025-04-24-design-session-essentials-assets/40166/52
I appreciate the idea, the title is a bit crazy haha.
I think a better way that could fit better in Blender would be to keep the Edit Mode as it is, but in Edit Mode you'd have an option in the Header "Enable History" or something like that. Hitting the button would add a "History" panel in the Side-panel, resembling to the "Edit Mesh Layers"; The "History" could maybe appear in the "Edit" tab since we're in Edit Mode.
You could type in the amount of operations you'd like to keep in memory (or maybe this is a Preferences settings), and clicking on them would make the tiny properties window appear so you can change the values etc.. Just like in Maya.
I don't know if this will ever see the day in Blender, but I think it's a great idea. This could probably be done as an Addon like the one you tried.
Just to add infos about my comment, I think the version you're proposing with the history in the Mesh properties tab is great too, but this should definitely be an optional feature, something that is off by default.
Thanks for your reply! My main idea to remove the edit mode was to keep every object stripped from that feature. It seems that as soon as you place an object in the scene is ready to be modified. This might be a solution to the problem of accesing the primitive options by pressing F9 anytime before any modifier is applied.
Yes!
I've always wished blender had a non-destructive edit mesh modifier very similar to this.
