Does Grease pencil allow reuse of Animation?

Is it possible to reuse bones and animations as a library asset?

I'm looking at a sort of feature that allows bones and animations of the bones to be reused as long as they share the same category. If the characters have different dimensions, the bone template could be adjusted so that they could share all their animation.

Here is how they implemented the reuse of bones for a character under the same category but that has different body size youtube.com/watch and here's how they make the accessories animate properly with the bones youtube.com/watch

If possible I'd like to share these links, they've got alot of neat ideas to make cartooning easier:

youtube.com/watch

youtube.com/watch

You might have better luck on Blenderartists.org -- this forum is for feature requests.

* @Josephbburg * Also, animation data in Blender is usually saved to the object (and therefore, easy to reuse). As far as bones are concerned, it chould make no difference what type of object you're using -- the type is object "data" - the object stores the animation data and applies it to the object data that it is using. This is also essential because any number of objects can share the same data (mesh, curve, grease pencil, etc.) but use different animations. Anyways, if you're referring to the actual drawn frames of the grease pencil, then probably no, it's not reusable. But I'm not sure what you mean!

It's really not helpful to show videos of another piece of software and say, essentially, "Make it like this."

If you're animating with a bone-based rig in Blender, the animation is generally re-usable by taking advantage of Actions. However, what you're talking about seems to be more related to animation retargeting (like can be done with software like Motion Builder). That's a feature that Blender has never really had (and would be quite nice to add).

However, for this to be an actionable proposal, it really needs to have a description of how you expect the tools to behave in Blender . How would you recommend that users retarget their animations, using Blender's tools and interface paradigms?
